North Shore Soccer Academy was founded in 2016 as an intentionally small soccer club offering professional coaching to boys and girls. NSSA teams practice year-round at Tower School in Marblehead, Brookwood School in Manchester and Shore Country Day School in Beverly--all of which offer excellent accommodations and field conditions. As a club, we play competitively in the Northeast Soccer League.
We believe that the development of foundational soccer skills as young athletes is crucial for further education. As coaches, we are dedicated to creating exceptional experiences for our players and parents.
NSSA's Club Director Mike Grubor has been coaching and playing soccer for more than 40 years. Mike learned his trade as a kid in the former Yugoslavia playing in Division 1 programs of the Youth Academies. After emigrating to the U.S., Mike distinguished himself as a skilled athlete at Reading High School and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. He earned a full athletic scholarship at the University of Hartford, playing all four years. Mike went on to play professionally in Greece at division one level. Throughout his career, Mike has been coaching at the high school, college and club soccer levels.
